Happy Independence Day, everyone. This is the day in which we celebrate the early Americans getting together, cooking hot dogs and watching fireworks. T’was a good time.
For some reason, whenever someone says “Happy 4th of July” it registers in my brain as a national holiday, but it still sounds weird to me. On Christmas, we don’t say “Merry 25th of December”, nor does Halloween receive a ”Happy 31st of October”. However, I suppose we’re not the only nation that does this. Cinco de Mayo is pretty popular with our neighbors down south (5th of May in Spanish, for those of you who are strictly monolingual). I don’t know why this is even an issue for me, but I suppose it’s better than people greeting me with “Happy Sunday” today.
On an unrelated note, my mom’s newspaper didn’t come today. Either it wasn’t delivered, or someone took it. Whatever the case is, my mom is distraught over the fact that she won’t know what’s going on in the news today. I told her to go online and read the news like a normal person.
That’s all from me. I hope your holiday is filled with fun, food, and beer. Remember to be safe.
As for me, it’s time to watch “Team America: World Police”.
Catch you later.
